Tips for the Area

In the middle of the Franconian lakeland countryside, between the lakes Brombachsee and Rothsee, in the metropolitan area of Nuremberg, where you will find our campsite, there are countless activities and points of interest for enjoyable day trips, be it in spring, summer, autumn, or winter.

  • The approximately 400 km of developed hiking and biking trails, which are located around our campsite, offer ideal opportunities for day trips in nature
  • The area is also good for motorcyclists
  • The lakes Rothsee, with 212 hectares of surface area, and Brombachsee are well-suited for sailing, windsurfing, fishing, and bathing
  • The old town in Roth and the impressive hunter’s castle of Ratibor, in addition to the numerous sights in the Nuremberg area, offer a plethora of cultural diversion.

Sports Fascination:

For sports enthusiasts, the county of Roth offers a lot of variety with it’s wide range of landscape characteristics: sailing, golf, horseback riding, inline skating, tennis, swimming, and flying are just a few of the activities to choose from! Some sports highlights are:

Water Sports
Two lakes, Rothsee and Brombachsee, are beloved places for sailing and windsurfing. Around the lake, guests find all they need for an active holiday.

Biking
In the Franconian lakeland countryside, you will find an over 400 km long network of developed biking trails. This offers the endurance athlete a lot of space, and for family bike tours, the beautiful landscape alone offers reward.

Winter Sports
Even in winter, the Frankonian lakeland countryside has it’s charm. Whether with ice skating, curling, or cross-country skiing, the open landscape awaits exploration.

Fishing
A day pass for fishing at Waldsee can be obtained at our reception (from Mai). Should you wish to visit other fishing spots, the area offers innumerable possibilities.

Challenge Roth (triathlon)
The Challenge brings the best triathletes in the world to Roth once a year to see how they measure up. One hundred thousand spectators cheer on the endurance athletes encouraging top achievement.
